Empowering
Through Education
Education makes every future brighter, every pedestal taller. We provide financial support for area youth to further their own learning and professional training, so they might go as far and as high as their talents and efforts can lift them.
Our services
Steadfast in Service to Others
First, we provide significant scholarships to rising area high school seniors. Our grants are unrestricted and our selection process is as fair and open as we can make it. Through our growing endowment, Pedestal provides financial assistance for associate and bachelor’s degrees, trade schools, professional certifications, and apprenticeships.
Secondly - and just as importantly - we provide grants to local youth-serving nonprofits to help sustain their pivotal work. These partner organizations identify candidates to become Pedestal Scholars.
At Pedestal, we well know the struggle for funding among the local community of youth-serving nonprofits.
We connect students, nonprofits, and donors in a reciprocal support system unique in the Richmond area.
Our goal is to create a vibrant, expanding community of interlocking funding and grants.
WHO WE ARE
Meet Our Dedicated Board
The Pedestal Fund was formed by a generous gift from Anne and Robert Waldruff to our founder, David L. Robbins, to establish a growing fund for academic and professional scholarships to Richmond area youths, in honor of Anne’s four decades plus as a Richmond public school teacher.
